H-bar white line markings
An H-bar is an advisory road marking indicated by a solid white line with short bars on either end, at entrances to off-street parking where the kerb is dropped to provide a convenient crossing place for pedestrians.
When are H-bars used
They’re placed in locations where legally enforceable restrictions wouldn’t be appropriate, such as residential areas where parking space on the public road is in high demand and can often lead to inconsiderate parking near driveways and may cause an obstruction.
Are H-bars enforceable
H-bars aren’t enforceable.
