Formal Statutory Consultation
On 26 March 2026, it was agreed to progress to a Statutory Consultation on the proposal to permanently close Fountainhall Primary School and Early Learning and Childcare and to rezone the school catchment area to Heriot Primary School. The Statutory Consultation will now be undertaken in line with the requirements of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010 and will commence on Monday 24 August and run until 12 October 2026 inclusive, giving the opportunity to have your say on the proposal.
The link to the online Statutory Consultation will be published prior to the Statutory Consultation commencement and following approval of the Proposal Report by Council on 20 August 2026.
A public meeting is scheduled within the Consultation Period for Wednesday 16 September at 6pm at Fountainhall Primary School. All are invited and welcome to attend to hear more and ask questions.
