Book a collection of household bulky items

Booking a kerbside uplift

You can book a kerbside bulky uplift to dispose of large household items that weigh less than 50kg such beds, sofas and fridges.  You can check for the next available Kerbside Bulky Uplift booking here

You’ll need to create a MyScotBorders account to make a booking or you can contact our Customer Advice and Support Service.

Before booking please consider whether the items

  • are on the list of items we don’t collect
  • could be donated to charity for someone else to use

We are unable to enter your home, garden or any other building, and therefore require the items to be outside and should be left at the usual waste and recycling collection point before 7.30am on the day of collection. If the items aren’t at the collection point, you won’t be eligible for a refund.

Any soft furnishing items such as sofas and mattresses should be wrapped in a waterproof covering.

COVID-19

The health and safety of our staff is important and we ask that you don’t book an uplift if you or anyone in your household have tested positive or have shown symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

If you already have a booking and someone in your household tests positive or shows symptoms of COVID-19, please either cancel or reschedule your booking to a later collection date. You can do this by logging into your MyScotBorders account or contacting our Customer Advice and Support Service.

Cost

It costs £50.00 to have up to five items collected (a three piece suite will count as three items). Alternatively, you can take the items to your local Community Recycling Centre free of charge.
