Our planning enforcement service handles unauthorised building works and planning control breaches. To check if the necessary permissions have been obtained, start by searching the property before completing the online form. This helps us allocate resources effectively if further action is needed.
Often, no formal planning permission or building warrant is needed for developments considered to be permitted development under the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992 (as amended) (point 4), which you can view on the Scottish Government website.
Additionally, no formal planning permission or building warrant is needed for developments considered to bepermitted under Section 0.3 and 0.5 of the Building Standards Technical handbook 2019 (domestic) which is also available to view on the Scottish Government website.
