Do I need to renew my direct debit every year?

A direct debit instruction is continuous, this means you do not need to renew it every year.

Can I pay over twelve-months?

Yes, by direct debit you can. You can set up or amend your direct debit to twelve months (April to March inclusive) using our Council Tax online page

Can I change or cancel my direct debit?

Yes, you can change your payment date using our Council Tax online page. 

Alternatively, please contact Customer Advice and Support Services online using the online form on our website.

A direct debit can be cancelled at any time at your bank or building society.

What happens if a mistake is made?

If we or your bank or building society make a mistake, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your bank or building society.
