Older people falling is the biggest accidental injury problem in the Scottish Borders.
Each year a significant number of older people over the age of 75 suffer injuries as a result of a fall. Many falls can be prevented. We want to help older people continue to live safely in their own homes.
There are guidelines, information and services available to support falls prevention.
Your GP or named worker can advise and direct you to falls prevention information and support.
Where do accidents happen?
Falls can occur anywhere, in the home or outside.
See further information about safety for older people on the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) website.
