Viewing a planning application

At present we are experiencing technical issues with the search function on the planning portal, in that the post code search function is not  currently available. Efforts are being made to restore this functionality as soon as is practicable.

There are other means to search for applications on the planning portal, including: by means of property address, development type, Community Council area, time period or the map search function.

The public access portal allows you to view information relating to Building Warrant Applications and Planning Applications including planning decisions, appeals and enforcements.

How to view a planning application

The Public Access Portal allows you to do a variety of searches for the information you are looking for.

You can do a simple search for Planning Applications, Appeals and Enforcements by keyword, application reference, postcode or by a single line of an address.

  1. enter your search term
  2. click 'search'
  3. select the application you are interested in

The advanced search allows you to refine your results if you get a large number returned.

You can also search by:

  • Weekly/monthly lists - for Planning Applications either validated or decided in a given week
  • Property - an address search for current or historical cases relating to a property
  • Map - to help you locate the desired case/property

You can comment on a planning application which is still open for consultation through the Public Access Portal (Registration required).
