Pay a parking charge notice
To pay a parking charge notice issued by us for parking in a Pay and Display car park you will need the unique payment reference number on your Charge Notice.
Unique Payment Reference Number
The reference number is your Charge Notice number without the prefix SB. Please only enter the eight digit numbers as your unique payment reference number ( ie SB12345678 = reference number would be 12345678). Do not enter the letters SB.
You can pay:
- online with your debit or credit card
- over the phone by phoning our Customer Advice and Support Service on 0300 100 1800
- in person at one of our contact centres
- by post to the address given on the Charge Notice (don't send cash in the post)
How much do I have to pay?
Up to 31 January 2023 the penalty charge was £20 for car parks in Hawick, Galashiels and Melrose, and £40 for Peebles. If you pay within 10 days of the ticket being issued, the charge is reduced to £10 in Hawick, Galashiels and Melrose and £20 in Peebles.
From 1 February 2023 the penalty charges in all our pay and display car parks are £40. with a reduced charge of £20 if payment is received within 10 days.
Payments should be made within 21 days of the ticket being issued.
