Our Sensory Services Team provides support for people who have a visual impairment.
Information and advice
Information and advice is available on all issues to do with visual impairment, including:
- communication
- daily living skills
- mobility
- benefit entitlement and concessions
- services available from national organisations
- details of local developments or groups such as the Macular Society
Equipment
You can be assessed for equipment which could help you to remain independent and safe. This can include:
- magnification equipment
- lighting
- canes
- talking devices
Advocacy and communication
Advice and support can be offered where your visual impairment may be leading to difficulties in everyday living or at work.
