Make a payment

We are introducing chip and PIN payment technology this month. This will allow us to offer a more secure means of taking face-to-face card payments, reducing the risk of card fraud.

Service disruption during upgrades

In order to make the changes, our payment system will be unavailable from midday on Monday 20 May until mid-afternoon on Tuesday 21 May. This will affect:

• the internet payment facility for council tax and other key payments
• the automated telephone payment facility
  
• the service provided by contact centres for taking payments over the phone
• debit and credit card payments in contact centres, registrar offices, recycling centres and Council headquarters.
