UK Shared Prosperity Programme 2025-26

We were advised in December 2024 that, following the change in central government, a one year transitional UK Shared Prosperity programme would delivered in 2025-26. Local authorities were again given the task of planning and delivering investment, with the Scottish Borders awarded just over £1.7m.

The programme focuses investment in the three priorities of:

  • Community and Place
  • People and Skills
  • Supporting Local Business

Local authorities again have discretion to deliver SPF through direct award, open grant funding, commissioning, procurement of service provision or in-house provision.

UK Shared Prosperity Programme 2022-25

The Scottish Borders UK Shared Prosperity 2022-2025 programme was introduced by UK Government in December 2022.  Its aim was to support the levelling up of all parts of the UK to boost productivity, pay, jobs and living standards as well as improve public services, restore sense of community and empower communities.

Local authorities across the UK were given the task of planning and delivering investment within the four investment priorities of Community & Place; Supporting Local Business; People and Skills and Multiply.  Scottish Borders secured just over £5m for three years and the programme closed on 31 March 2025.
