Community Festivals and Events Small Grant Scheme

The Community Festivals and Events Small Grant Scheme opened for applications on 1 April 2023.

About the Fund

The fund will provide a new one-off scheme to:

  • Support and develop small festivals and events in local communities
  • Encourage and inspire new and existing organisations to strengthen and develop events
  • Attract and engage new audiences to participate in organised local events
  • Develop events with a focus on engaging under-represented groups, including children and young people, girls and women
  • Connect and add value to existing, programmes, festivals and events
  • Promote, celebrate and raise awareness of the Scottish Borders.

A fund of £70k will be made available with awards of between £3k and £5k.

Community groups and organisations within the Scottish Borders can apply. Grant awards can be used for a variety of purposes, such as:

  • Enhancing existing events
  • Developing new and innovative ideas to strengthen and enhance an event or festival
  • Providing local communities with the opportunity to attract visitors and strengthen the local economy
  • Supporting sustainable practices as part of a wider festival or event
