Horse riding routes

We have three specific routes for riding:

  • Jedburgh Horse Circular - included in Paths around Jedburgh booklet (PDF, 9mb)
  • Kelso Horse Circular - included in Paths around Kelso booklet (PDF, 12.25mb)
  • Hawick Riding Route

For a comprehensive guide to horse riding routes in the Scottish Borders and the south of Scotland visit the South of Scotland Countryside trails website.

Common ridings

Each year a number of Borders towns celebrate in commemoration of local legend, history and tradition with a week of rideouts and public events, known as common ridings.
