Thank You Day - 4 July - Message to all Colleagues
Whilst I have only been at Scottish Borders Council just a few months it is abundantly clear to me, and from my many conversations with the Corporate Management Team and other colleagues, that the way in which you have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic has been absolutely remarkable. That is testament to your abilities, your dedication, your resilience and sheer hard work.
The national ‘Thank You Day’ on Sunday is being supported by organisations up and down the country and is an appropriate opportunity for us all to stop and reflect on what has happened over the past 18 months and recognise the extraordinary response that has been delivered.
Since joining the Council at the end of March I have seen for myself staff consistently going the extra mile to support their colleagues, their service, the Council and importantly our residents and businesses through this difficult time. I know that this has in fact been the case since day one of the pandemic.
It is you that make this Council what it is and I want to say ‘Thank You’ for all that you have done, and continue to do, to not only tackle COVID-19 but also continue to deliver high quality services under the most difficult of circumstances. Your efforts are hugely appreciated, by myself, the wider management team and our Elected Members.
We are in a recovery phase now, however COVID-19 will continue to pose challenges in the months ahead. By continuing to work together we will get through this and come out the other side in a strong position, building for the future and meeting and overcoming new challenges along the way.
Thank you again for all that you do for the Scottish Borders, and please do give yourself a massive well done on the Thank You day on the 4 July – because you deserve it.
With my deepest thanks,
