How long do we keep your information for?

We only keep your personal information for the minimum amount of time necessary. 

Sometimes this time period is set out in the law, but in most cases it is based on our business need.

Data retention requirements

We have adopted a standardised approach when identifying retention requirements and this is based on the Scottish Records Retention Schedule for Local Authorities, which is a national recommendation issued by Scottish Council on Archives. We will inform you how long your information will be held for within our services privacy notices.
