Help name the new Tweedbank care village
We're inviting residents, families, staff and the wider community to suggest a name for the new care village currently being built in Tweedbank to replace Garden View and Waverley care homes.
Expected to open in late 2027, the development will provide a modern, welcoming environment for residents and play an important role in the local community.
We'd like your ideas for:
- a name for the new care village
- names for each of the three buildings within the development.
We're looking for names that are:
- respectful and positive – reflecting dignity, wellbeing and community
- place-based – inspired by Tweedbank, the local area, or its heritage.
Have your say
Our online questionnaire where you can share your ideas and suggestions is open from 3 July to 2 August.

What happens next?
All suggestions will be reviewed by a shortlisting panel. Residents, families and staff at Garden View and Waverley will then be invited to vote for their preferred option.
The chosen names will be shared with those directly involved in the project before being publicised more widely through our communication channels.
