Legislation

  • The Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 sets out the legislative framework for LPPs.
  • The Act is supported by the Town and Country Planning (Local Place Plans) (Scotland) Regulations 2021, which came into force 22 January 2022.

The Planning Circular 1/2022: Local Place Plans provides guidance on the legislative requirements for the preparation, submission and registration of LPPs and matters not explicitly required by legislation.
