The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for rain for rural south western parts of the Scottish Borders on Sunday, 14 December and updated wider yellow weather warnings for rain.
In light of the amber warning being issued, a multi-agency Incident Response Group will operate from the Council’s Emergency Control Centre to co-ordinate the response and any recovery efforts.
In particular, river levels will be closely monitored with our partners SEPA and will respond accordingly. Surface water flooding may also be an issue if the forecasted rainfall quantities materialise.
Regular updates for the public will be provided whilst the Incident Response Group is in place, including via SB Alert and on our dedicated severe weather page.
