We are seeking expressions of interest from local organisations and community groups that are looking for grant funding to support potential projects over the next few years.

In aiming to help increase and support access to available grant funding we are simplifying the existing process.

Once expressions of interest are submitted these will be reviewed and then groups contacted and provided with advice on potential funding routes and assistance to complete additional specific application forms where these are required.

The type of projects being sought are those seeking:

  • Revenue based funding – this could be feasibility work for a potential idea, detailed design work for an existing project so that it is ready to go, or potential training and skills opportunities for staff.
  • Capital based funding – This could be the construction of a town centre improvement project or the delivery of a piece of permanent infrastructure or equipment. It could also be the delivery of a project that has been identified by the community through ongoing placemaking processes ongoing in a number of towns and settlements throughout the Scottish Borders.

The expression of interest form can be accessed at www.scotborders.gov.uk/projectfunding

Councillor Scott Hamilton, Executive Member for Community and Business Development

“We understand that with so many potential funding opportunities available, both at local and national levels, that there is a lot of confusion for community groups and organisations trying to obtain funding to take forward local projects.

“This new process will ensure that groups are signposted to the right application form and supported with the completion process, if required, ensuring the most appropriate funding streams are targeted and submissions are of the highest quality, hopefully resulting in more investment in our communities.

“As a result, we want to hear from organisations and community groups who have projects in mind and who require funding support to take those forward.”
