Applications for the 2020-21 school year starting in August 2020 are now open. You can apply using our online application form.

How to renew

If you have previously received Free School Meals/Clothing Grant during 2019-20, you will receive a renewal letter advising you can now re-apply. Please use the reference number quoted on your renewal letter when re-applying.

Clothing Grant Payments

If you submit your application and any supporting evidence by 8 July 2020 and are entitled to a Clothing Grant, payments will be made by 24 July 2020.

Where applications and any required evidence are received after 17 July 2020, we cannot guarantee payment will be with you by the date the schools return on 11 August 2020. We therefore encourage prompt applications to ensure payment is made as early as possible.

After the new school term has commenced on 11 August 2020, payments will normally be made two-three weeks after you submit your application and provide all supporting evidence.

Please note, if payment is for a child starting Primary one, or returning to School for S5/6, we must have the school confirm attendance to us before payment can be made. As a result, payment for those children will be delayed until the schools return.
