How we will use your information

We will use your personal information to co-ordinate Doors Open Days events on a regional basis. The contact details you have provided will be kept securely and confidentially. The data collected will be reviewed on a yearly basis. They will be held on record for this purpose until you request their deletion / confirm you no longer wish to participate in Doors Open Days. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing heritage@scotborders.gov.uk where your information will be securely deleted.

Details of your venue and event will be kept in perpetuity as a record of the festival.

We are collecting and using this information based on your consent in submitting the registration form.

Who we may share your information with

Your information will be accessed by staff who need to use it in order to provide the services described above.

Details of your venue and event will be shared with Scottish Civic Trust to ensure they form part of the national Doors Open Days festival. A copy of their privacy statement is available online.

Your information may also be shared and analysed internally in order to provide management information, inform service delivery reform and similar purposes to meet our duty to achieve best value and continuous service improvement. 

In general we do not transfer personal data outside either the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA) and on the rare occasions when it does so we will inform you. We will only transfer data outside the UK and the EEA when we are satisfied that the party which will handle the data and the country it is processing it in will provide adequate safeguards for personal privacy. 

Decision-Making

We do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes.  Some processes are semi-automated (such as anti-fraud data matching) but a human decision maker will always be involved before any decision is reached in relation to you

If you have provided anyone else's details to us, please make sure that you have told them that you have given their information to us.  We will only use this information as part of co-ordinating the Doors Open Days festival.
