Tour de France guidance on campsite and parking provision

Please notify us if you are planning to operate a temporary campsite or spectator parking area for the event.

To help us understand your proposals, please provide:

• Confirmation of the type of site proposed:
  • Accommodation and/or spectator parking
  • Type of accommodation (where applicable), for example tents/motorhomes/caravans/mixed use
• A site location plan
• A site layout plan
• Vehicle access and exit arrangements.
• The anticipated number of camping pitches or parking spaces
• Planned dates of operation.
• Details of toilet/welfare facilities
• Details of waste and recycling arrangements
• Details of any secure cycle storage
• Campervan waste disposal arrangements (where applicable)
• How the site will be restored after use

Providing this information will allow us to take an informed view on the requirement for planning permission, help us provide support and guidance where appropriate and allow us to coordinate visitor information.

We will work with landowners and site operators to coordinate information relating to temporary campsites and parking areas and may share information on:

• Camping opportunities
• Temporary parking locations
• Active travel routes
• Visitor travel and event information

We may request additional information where necessary to support public safety, traffic management and environmental protection.
