Use this form to make an application for a private water supply grant after receiving your risk assessment.
The grant scheme is non means tested, and you may be eligible for financial assistance of up to £800 per premises, if:
- your premises are in Scotland and served by a private water supply;
- the private water supply is the main or sole supply of water for human consumption purposes; and
- your private water supply is in need of works which are likely to improve the nature or quality of the water, including the installation of treatment equipment, or for the provision of a new private water supply or domestic distribution system.
The grant of £800 may be increased in cases of hardship, which in general terms means someone in receipt of a means tested benefit. Anyone who wishes to apply for an increase in grant due to hardship should provide supplementary reasons to Scottish Borders Council (“the local authority”) as to why they feel they should be eligible for an increase in the £800.
Please note if you're applying as a multiple applicant application, each premises owner/eligible person must complete a signatory form. This form can be found here (opens in new window). You can either submit the signatory form at the time of application, or you will be provided with a confirmation email on completion of this form with a link to add the form to your applicant at a later date. You'll have one month from submission of this form to provide the complete signatory form. Failure to upload the form within this timescale will result in your application being closed and you'll need to reapply.
