A ballot is currently open for ten people to form the Coldingham Bay beach hut wait list.
The bay, which has approximately 60 beach hut sites that are all currently leased, sits on the Berwickshire shore, a mile from Coldingham Village.
Entering the ballot
Those wishing to enter have until Wednesday 30 September, all applications received during the application period will be entered into a ballot.
Ten individuals will be selected at random from the ballot and when a site becomes available, it will be offered to the person at the top of the waiting list of the ten selected from the ballot.
The lease is for the site only, with the rent for a standard site set at £360 per annum, plus VAT.
Councillor Simon Mounford, Executive Member for Planning and Community Assets
“This is a fantastic opportunity for people within the region to put their name down.
“The beach huts are highly sought after with a wide range of facilities in an ideal setting. I would encourage anyone thinking about entering the ballot to do so.”
Coldingham Bay is managed by our Active Travel and Transport Team, which is also responsible for managing the allocation of beach hut plots.
