Construction underway on Eyemouth Pump Track

Published: 10th April 2026

On Thursday 3 April 2026, representatives from ourselves, Eyemouth Town Team, and Eyemouth Community Council came together to mark the official start of construction on a new pump track for the town.

Funding

The pump track marks the first phase of a wider £500,000 investment in Eyemouth through our Play Parks and Outdoor Learning Investment Programme. The next phase, which is programmed for 2026/27, is the creation of a destination play park. The programme is aimed at improving outdoor recreational spaces across the region.

Construction of the pump track, located on the historic former playing field site to the west of Eyemouth Primary School, began on Monday 6 April and is expected to take around 12 weeks. The new facility is scheduled to open in time for the start of the school summer holidays

Facilites

Designed by internationally recognised specialists Velosolutions, the facility will include:

  • 145-metre asphalt pump track
  • 45-metre dedicated jump line
  • a distinctive wall ride: a two-metre-high, banked timber slat structure built above the berm

It has been created to suit users of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to experienced riders and will accommodate bikes, scooters, and skateboards. When finished, the wall ride will be the first of its kind in the UK.

Ben Ingle, Eyemouth Town Team

“It’s wonderful that such a high-quality track is being built here – the best in the Borders. It’s been shaped by young people too, with 80% of them saying they wanted a pump track through the community engagement process.”

Dixie Scott, Eyemouth Town Team and Sea of Change

“We are absolutely delighted to see work starting on the pump track. It’s such an innovative design. This is the start of improvements that we have been pushing for in the community park.”
