RIDONKULOUS active travel campaign has launched an exciting new video competition inviting all pupils across Hawick to showcase how they enjoy getting around for their everyday short journeys.
Whatever way they prefer to travel - walking, wheeling, scooting, cycling, or horse-riding - young people are encouraged to get creative, celebrate active travel and share the fun on video.
Videos can be up to three minutes long and should be short, fun and full of energy, just like a social media reel. Pupils can use school iPads to film, and those in P1 – P3 who don’t have a device at home can speak to their parent, guardian or teacher for support.
All participants will receive RIDONKULOUS goodies, including bike lights and reflectors, helping them stay bright and visible as they move around their communities.
Prizes for overall winners include an epic RIDONKULOUS party for an entire primary school class, a fun outdoor adventure for one high school winner and up to 10 friends, and a selection of runner-up rewards such as gift vouchers for favourite local spots.
