The annual Clubsport Awards took place across the Borders last month, celebrating the regions sports stars and their achievements.
Clubsport
Berwickshire, Eildon, Roxburgh, and Tweeddale are four of the Scottish Clubsport’s national network of regional groups. The four ClubSport organisations in the Borders are run by volunteers from the local sporting communities and distribute grants and develop projects at a local level. Every year the groups look for nominations of outstanding sporting performance whether that is from organisers or athletes and celebrate these through the annual Clubsport Awards.
The Awards
Awards include Sports Personality of the Year, Special Achievement, Coach, Team, and Club of the Year as well as Service to Local Sport. This year’s winners included individuals and teams from a variety of sports, from local and national levels.
Councillor Euan Jardine, Council Leader said:
“These awards are a real celebration of the regions sports stars, and it is great to see so many athletes, coaches and volunteers recognised from grassroots to elite. I would like to congratulate everyone who was nominated and to those who picked up an award.”
