we are marking the eighth annual Scottish Housing Day by celebrating all aspects of housing and raising awareness about the important role that housing plays in people’s lives
The focus this year is careers within housing, celebrating the work of everyone throughout the housing sector who make a difference to people’s lives and the economy.
Through participating in Scottish Housing Day, we are keen to highlight the significance of housing as a career and the way in which those who work in the profession can play their part in enhancing housing quality and providing increased value for residents across the region, aligning with Scottish Government objectives.
Robin Tatler, Executive Member for Communities and Equalities
“I’m delighted we are recognising the value of housing by taking part in another Scottish Housing Day.
“The importance of everyone having access to a home that meets their needs cannot be underestimated and we remain deeply committed to working with partners to deliver exceptional housing across the Scottish Borders.
“Critical to that aim is those who work within the sector, with Scottish Housing Day providing an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of all those who have made housing their career of choice, doing what they can to make a positive impact on the housing needs of local people and communities.
“There are a number of different roles and routes into the sector with a diverse range of job options across the Borders. I would encourage anyone looking for a positive career destination to look out for the opportunities that are available both in the Council and with our external partners, such as Registered Social Landlords.”
