Additional Peebles High School engagement sessions now open to the public

Published: 3rd February 2023

Two further engagement sessions regarding the replacement of Peebles High School planned for this coming Monday (6 February) will now be open to the public.

Further drop-in events on Monday 6 February in West Linton & Innerleithen

Events are being held at West Linton Primary School from 11am-1pm and at Memorial Hall in Innerleithen from 3-5pm will now run as drop-in sessions with members of the public encouraged to attend at any time during the advertised hours.

Initially planned as ticketed events targeted at representatives of Tweeddale Community groups for focused discussions about the project, the sessions are now being opened up more widely.  The sessions on Monday follow the engagement sessions held at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles this week where over 300 people attended.

Interested members of the public, community groups and local organisations who have not yet attended an engagement session are being encouraged to come along and speak with our officers who will showcase the designs for the school.

Themes highlighted

Both events will cover a number of themes relating to the project that have been highlighted from recent engagements - learning models, capacity and roll assumptions, assembly/performance areas, detailed layouts and models, equalities and delivery & program.

We anticipate the demand to be high and may have to manage the numbers in the venues at any one time.

The sessions will take the form of informal café style small group discussions. As a consequence, and due to numbers of attendees at the Peebles event, members of the public should expect to queue if high numbers attend at any one time.
