Scottish Borders Councillors are set to take to the road during the summer holding engagements sessions ‘Community Conversations’ in all 11 wards
The Community Conversations have been organised to give the public an opportunity to meet the new Leader of the Council, Cllr Euan Jardine, and newly elected Ward members. The first of the Community Conversations will take place on 5 July 2022 in the Hawick and Denholm Ward in Denholm Village Hall, between 6 and 8pm.
Community Conversations will offer people in local communities across the Scottish Borders the opportunity to meet and talk to the Leader, newly elected Councillors and senior officers from the Council. The Leader is keen that the sessions are not formal Q&A sessions, but more informal events that enables real engagement with the public sharing their thoughts about what really matters to them.
Euan Jardine, Council Leader
“I have a real desire to ensure that we respond to our community’s needs. The Council and elected members really want to get to the heart of our communities and find out what it is we can do to support them. I would like to encourage everyone to take up this honest invitation to meet and speak with us and we, in return, will listen.”
Community Conversations are taking place throughout July and August between 6 and 8 pm. Everyone in the local community is invited to drop-in at any time throughout the two hours, staying for the whole session or for as long or as little time as they want.
Full details of the venues, times and who will be attending will be published on our website and on social media.
