The nominations have been announced for the 2022 local government elections in the Scottish Borders
A total of 77 candidates are standing across the 11 Council wards in the region. You can see the full list on our website.
Nominations closed at 4pm today (30 March).
Anyone living in the Scottish Borders who will be 16 or over on 5 May, can register to vote in the local elections.
The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Monday 18 April. Residents can apply online. It takes just five minutes.
If you have recently turned 16 or moved home, it is particularly important that you make sure you are correctly registered to vote.
