Mental health and wellbeing for children and young people

We want to assist people through the process of supporting a child or young person who may be at risk of self harm or suicide.

We want people to recognise the importance of:

  • prevention
  • early intervention
  • harm minimisation

Young people need a sensitive, calm and non judgemental response to help them contain their distress and give them an opportunity to work through that distress to find solutions.

We have self harm guidelines for professionals, parents and young people to help them through the proccess of supporting a child or young person who may be at risk of self harm or suicide.
