Submit a deputation
Deputations can be made on behalf of a recognised community organisation or a group. Individuals wishing to raise matters should do so using our petitions submission form.
Deputation should be submitted to us about issues which relate to matters within our responsibility or which affect the general wellbeing of residents of the Borders.
How do I submit a deputation?
- read our deputation guidance question and answers
- download the deputations submission form (PDF) or request one from the Clerk to the Council and complete it
- return it as instructed on the deputation form
What happens after I submit a deputation?
If your deputation is valid, it will be put forward to the next meeting of the Scrutiny and Petitions Committee. The decision made will be recorded in the minute and sent to you. There will be no right of appeal to a final decision made in response to a deputation.
