Request or Question: I am writing to you to request information about your recruitment of Teaching Assistants and Pupil Support Assistants in Primary schools in your local authority. Please confirm whether your local authority recruits teaching assistants and pupil support assistants positions: - centrally into a bank or pool - ?whether individual schools recruit these positions in house If recruitment is done through another means not described above, please provide details.
Response: Scottish Borders Council employ Additional Needs Assistants, Classroom Assistants and Pupil Support Assistants which are all essentially the same role just hold historic job titles. We advertise both contracted posts and supply posts for the above roles through MyjobScotland in line with all other Scottish Local Authorities. For the supply posts, various schools will then have access to the candidate pool - ?whether individual schools recruit these positions in house As above If recruitment is done through another means not described above, please provide details.
