Selkirk out of school club
We operate school age childcare provision from Knowepark Primary School in Selkirk.
Opening times and days
The club is are from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday 50 weeks per year, except the dates shown below.
All our settings are closed on the following days:
- Monday 17 August and Tuesday 18 August 2026
- Monday 19 October 2026
- St Andrew’s Day – Monday 30 November 2026
- Wednesday 23 December 2026 (settings will reopen on Wednesday 6 January 2027)
- Monday 15 February 2027
- May Day – Monday 3 May and Tuesday 4 May 2027
Applying for a place
Term Time
All bookings must be made at least 2 weeks before the required date
As places are limited and fill up very quickly please apply in lots of time.
All bookings are dependent on available space and cannot be guaranteed.
Holidays
For summer holiday places, all bookings must have been made no later than 31 May 2027
Health and medical matters
- Children should not attend the setting whilst feeling unwell, have a temperature, or sickness and diarrhoea, or who have an infectious disease.
- If a child or staff member has suffered from any diarrhoea and/or vomiting, they must not attend the setting until they have been symptom free for 48 hours.
- If a child becomes ill during a session, we will contact an emergency contact listed on the registration form, to arrange collection of the sick child. The child will be cared for until collected.
- If a child or staff member has a communicable disease, they should not attend the setting until they are no longer infectious.
- The Care Inspectorate and NHS Borders Infection Control Nurse will be notified of any infectious diseases that a qualified medical person considers notifiable.
- Parents/carers are required to notify the school directly if your child is absent through sickness.
- Staff cannot administer any medicine to a child unless prescribed by a doctor. Should the child be on prescribed medication, it is the responsibility of the parent or carer to notify staff to sign the necessary form of consent.
- Care Inspectorate regulations state that if a child is prescribed medication, parents must administer the first dose.
- Parents must, as soon as possible, disclose to staff any known medical condition, health problem or allergy affecting the child, or any family circumstances or court order which might affect the child’s welfare or happiness, or any concerns about the child’s safety.
If your child is sick and will not attend, you must advise the setting as soon as possible each day they will not attend.
Fees
Non-funded childcare fees:
- hourly rate £7.00
- Daily rate £56.30 (between 8 and 10 hours per day)
Fees are charged per hour or part thereof, ie if you book 8.30am to 12noon, you will be charged for four hours.
Notice of cancellations
- Full fees will be charged
- For places booked and cancelled with less than 2 weeks’ notice.
- for non-attendance of a child
- if a child is sick or leaves during the session
- Two weeks’ notice is required if you no longer require the place or wish to withdraw your child. Fees are payable during the whole of this time.
