- consultations with associated control authorities in respect of the provision of minimum standards of construction
- Scottish Water - regarding public sewers
- SEPA - regarding the disposal of surface water, foul drainage treatments and the siting of oil storage tanks
- Lothian and Borders Fire Brigade - regarding structural fire precautions and means of escape
- Environmental Health/Protective Services - regarding offices, shops and places of entertainment and in the provision of private water supplies
- Technical Services Design Section - regarding structural checking of building proposals
- Technical Services Development - regarding roads proposals, hoardings and scaffolding
- Disability Forum - regarding facilities for the disabled
- Social Work - regarding residential care buildings, nurseries and disability adaptations
- Central Services - regarding Licensed Premises and places of public entertainment.
