How to apply

There are several ways to do this:

  • if you are in P7 you will get a form to fill out if you want a card
  • if you are at school go to the school office or library to get a form
  • otherwise go to any contact centre or library to get a form and apply

Discounts

Your card gives you exclusive discounts at more than 1400 outlets around Scotland.  It is also part of the European Youth Card Network which means you get more than one hundred thousand discounts in 42 countries.

Proof of Age

The Young Scot card has a PASS hologram on it which makes it as credible as a driving license or passport for proving your age.

Travel

If you are between 16 and 18 year old or a full-time volunteer under 26 you can use the card to get special deals on transport.  These include:

  • a third off adult single fares on bus services in Scotland

  • two free ferry journeys to the mainland for Islanders

To claim these discounts you will need travel vouchers which will be sent to you when you turn 16.  If you have not received them contact us and we will arrange for them to be reissued.

Council services

You can use your card for:

  • cashless catering
