Family Consultation 2017 - Consultations

Consultation subject
The expansion and delivery of Early Learning and Childcare in the Scottish Borders
Full details
The Scottish Government is planning to expand Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) services to almost double the number of funded hours currently available from 600 hours per year to 1140 hours per year. These extra hours will be available for all three and four year old children and for some (eligible) two year old children, and will be in place by August 2020. It is planned that families will also have choice and flexibility in how they use services, including whether they use all of their child’s funded hours and whether they use them during school term-time or spread them throughout the year.
In Scottish Borders we are keen to improve services as they change and expand, to make them work better for you and your family. To do this we need your help so that we can plan for the future. Please help us by taking some time to complete this survey. It should only take around 10 minutes.
In addition to this survey we would like to invite you to attend one of our locality consultation meetings in August. This is an opportunity to hear more about the 1140 hours Expansion and actively participate in the future planning and development.
