Public space static and mobile CCTV

Fixed CCTV

We have installed a new modern public space CCTV system, with cameras in seven Borders towns:

  • Duns
  • Eyemouth
  • Galashiels
  • Hawick
  • Kelso
  • Peebles
  • Melrose

As well as its role in crime prevention and detection, the CCTV system will support our services by providing insight on footfall, traffic, and movement across the towns. The system can also be used to assess conditions during severe weather events.

All footage captured by the system has a 30 day deletion period unless it has been archived to be used as evidence by Police Scotland or for permitted use.

Only fully trained staff have access to control and view the system.

Use our online form to report damage or faults with the CCTV.
