English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
Our Community Learning and Development Service in partnership with Borders College provide English classes at different levels for adults living in the Scottish Borders. Some classes are delivered online and some classes are delivered face to face.
Register to study English
You can study at a range of levels, from beginners through to certificate classes. There are some mixed level conversation classes available.
Once you have registered, you will work with a trained tutor to decide which level of class is best for you. This is usually done on an individual basis by phone or online. Sometimes group face-to-face assessments are carried out.
You will receive an email explaining when your chosen class is expected to start. You may have to wait for a suitable class to start and if this is the case you will be told this and invited to the next session of classes.
