What is PACE?
Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) is the Scottish Government’s initiative for responding to redundancy situations. It is a multi-agency response to provide support and advice to employees and employers. You have access to support from 24 different organisations and your local PACE team understand your area and the needs of your area.
Our PACE redundancy support project
Our Redundancy Support Team has been created to help you find the support and advice you need. We understand that it can be a difficult time and we are here to listen and to help you deal with the practical and emotional impacts of redundancy. We understand that everyone has different circumstances, needs and concerns and we can tailor our approach to you as an individual.
Facing redundancy can be one of the most challenging and stressful things you will ever face and we can help you understand what steps you need to take and what support you may require.
What support is available?
We provide a wide range of services and help you access those relevant to you:
- Advice Services: Financial Inclusion, Council Tax Support, Scottish Welfare Fund
- Housing Services: Tenancy Advice, Council Tax Arrears, Homelessness Advice
- Employability: a wide range of opportunities in training and access to employment
- Community Learning and Development: tuition in core skills such as literacy and numeracy, IT skills
- Social Work Services: support for families, carers, people with mental health issues, addiction issues, disability issues

Through the local PACE team and our partnership working arrangements across the Borders we are able to help you access all the support and assistance you require.
