I would like to submit an FOI request for information regarding the subject/course choices available to senior phase students in secondary schools for the coming academic year. I have attached a spreadsheet and would ask that you complete one copy of the spreadsheet for each secondary school in your area. The spreadsheet contains separate tabs for N3, N4, N5, Higher, Advanced Higher, and Other courses/qualifications. For N3-Advanced Higher, the sheets ask for the Subject name and also whether it is going to be delivered in a single subject/level class or a mixed subject/level class. Where a Subject is going to be delivered in a mixed class there is a field for additional information in which I'd ask you to tell me what it will be taught alongside. In the Other tab, you are asked to provide the subject/course name, the type of qualification (this is a drop down menu) and the SCQF level. As the council is legally responsible for the education of young people in the area I expect that this information has already been gathered by the council as part of normal processes for ensuring education quality and adherence to children's rights. However, if this information is held by schools, then it should still be possible to provide it, and I have deliberately contacted you more than a week before schools close for the holidays. Either way, I will not accept the school holidays as an acceptable excuse for any failure to meet the 20 working days deadline for this request.
