I am currently investigating the use of mothballing in councils across Scotland. As part of this, I would like to request that you release information on settings that have been mothballed in your area since June 2015. I have attached a spreadsheet that I would ask you to use to respond to my request. It includes a number of fields, each of which is explained below: Name of setting - the name of the school or nursery Location - the city, town, village or settlement in which the school or nursery is located Type - ELC (nursery), primary, or secondary school, or a combined ELC and primary Date mothballed - the month and year in which the mothballing of the setting in question was confirmed Date of last review - the month and year in which the most recent review of the status of the mothballed setting was carried out Date reopened - where applicable, the date on which a previously mothballed setting was reopened Available for application - whether or not the mothballed setting is included as an option that parents can choose when applying for a school or nursery place for their child Current status - either opened, permanently closed, open but under review, or mothballed Any additional information - as stated Please note that where a setting has been mothballed, reopened, and then mothballed again I would like you to include a new entry for each instance of mothballing.
