I would like to request the following information regarding Head Teachers employed by SBC. Please provide, for each Head Teacher employed by SBC from 2015 onwards:
For each Head Teacher: The name of the school(s) they were/are appointed to.
Their job title (e.g., Head Teacher, Executive Head, Cluster Head). Their salary (gross annual salary or relevant salary band) for each year of service.
The date they were appointed to their current Head Teacher role, and the date they left (if applicable).
The total number of pupils on the school roll they were responsible for in each academic year.
Whether the Head Teacher has a teaching commitment (and at what amount), or is fully non-teaching.
Their employment attendance status for each academic year — specifically whether they were actively in role, on leave of absence, or absent due to ill health or secondment.
For each school with a Head Teacher in post: Whether the Head Teacher is shared across multiple schools or dedicated to one school only — and the names of any schools involved.
Whether any leadership or management time is being backfilled by other senior staff (e.g., Depute Head Teachers or Principal Teachers), and the associated cost of this backfill (where available).
Additionally: Whether SBC has committed to any fixed-term or long-term contractual salary arrangements (e.g., protected salaries, management restructures, or legally-binding salary levels) for Head Teachers responsible for schools with fewer than 100 pupils enrolled.
If such arrangements exist, please provide:
The number of cases.
The rationale given at the time of agreement.
Any available cost-benefit analysis or financial impact assessment prepared.

For HT posts all councils follow the job-sizing process set out within the SNCT handbook. This is not a salary band like SJC posts but a point on the DHT/HT spine published within the SNCT handbook - Part 2 - SNCT Handbook, and is therefore exempt under Section 25 of Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 The date they were appointed to their current Head Teacher role, and the date they left (if applicable).
