When support is available
Self-Harm Network Scotland provides one-to-one self-harm support for anyone aged 12+ in Scotland. The support is delivered by Mental Health & Wellbeing Peer practitioners who have their own, unique, lived experience of self-harm. You can refer yourself for 12-15 sessions of one-to-one support that are delivered over the phone, via video call of through text support. SHNS provides a live chat service that operates 7 days a week between 6pm and 10pm. This is a confidential service, staffed by peer practitioners and trained volunteers who can offer out of hours, immediate support. SHNS also offers support and information for parents and carers, friends and family members through their Loved Ones Support Group sessions. These 4-week groups explore information, resources and support for self-harm, including strategies on how to start a conversation about self-harm and harm minimisation.
