At meeting of Council on 14 Nov 23, agreement was secured for extension and expansion of Local Festival Grant Scheme. In the supporting paper, SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL LOCAL FESTIVAL GRANT SCHEME REVIEW, para 7.3 states that In line with both Council policy and legislative requirement, the Local Festival Grant Scheme Review has been subjected to an Integrated Impact Assessment. The outcome of that assessment did not identify any concerns arising from the Scheme potentially adversely impacting on any of the equalities groups. Furthermore it states that Equalities statements will continue to provided by Festival Committees as part of the grant award process. This FOI is to request: 1. Current copy of the Integrated Impact Assessment relevant to the Festival Grant Scheme Review
2. Most recent Equality Statement provided by Melrose Festival Committee as part of their grant award process
3. Any internal correspondence between SBC Officers or with Melrose Festival Committee relating to the to the gender specific selection of Melrosian and/or the gender specific and academic ability specific selection of Festival Queen.
4. Amy further reports or documentation relating to the equalities impacts of local festivals requiring festival principals to all be male. - Response
