I request the following information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 about Business Rates Accounts held by your council:* Account Name

I am aware that the Account Name may be considered personal in some instances so I ask that in these cases you supply the rest of the information provided with the Account name redacted. Also, if there are any aspects of our request you cannot disclose information for, could you please identify them with a reason. - Response

The requested information based on our records as at 19 July 2024 is detailed on the attached spreadsheet however, please note that information relating to sole traders or private individuals has been redacted as this is personal information and therefore exempt under S38(1)(b) FOI(S)A 2002.
For the following parts of your request:-
· Billing Address
As many of our Business Rates customers provide their home address for mailing purposes we are unable to disclose as this it is personal information and is exempt under S38(1)(b) FOI(S)A 2002
· Occupied/Empty Status
We do not have an Occupied/Empty Status indicator within our Business Rates database therefore this information is not held. However, an assumption can be made where a property receives empty relief. All current reliefs, exemptions and 2024 General Transitional Relief is shown on the spreadsheet where this has not been redacted for the reasons noted above.
As the Y/N information noted above is not held in our database in this way we give notice under Section 17 (1) (b) of the Freedom of Information Act 2002. - Link to download
