- To ask, in each of the past five years, how many applications for a disabled Blue Badge the council has received, and how many of these have been rejected. Could this be broken down by year and, if possible, reason for rejection

- Period 10/4/2019 – 11/10/2022 Prior to 12 October 2022, we had 2 resources which could give us information on Blue Badge applications, The Department for Transport’s Blue Badge system and our internal case management system. The Department for Transport system contains records of all successful awards of Blue Badges, but unsuccessful applications are not recorded on that system. Our previous case management system recorded all customer contact regarding Blue Badges, but that included basic requests for information only, requests for a paper form to be issued all the way through to fully completed applications. Unfortunately, due to the limitations of our reporting tools for our previous case management system, we are not able to break down these records of customer enquiries in a manner which would provide the information that you have requested without an officer manually checking every customer contact regarding Blue Badges. The cost of investigating this information would exceed the prescribed limits therefore this part of your request is refused under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act Scotland 2002. Period 12/10/2022 – 10/04/2024 Blue Badge administration was moved to a new case management system from 12 October 2022 and a breakdown of the applications received and application status is listed on the attached file.
