Information Requested The Section 75 Agreement registered in May 2019 for Planning Permission reference 18/01026/FUL includes an obligation to make a financial contribution of 468,838 (indexed) towards education infrastructure in the catchment non-denominational primary and secondary schools. This is referred to as the Education and Lifelong Learning Contribution. Clause 11 of the Section 75 Agreement states that 410,962 (indexed) of this financial contribution shall be expended towards the additional education accommodation and facilities that have been provided for Kingsland Primary School. The Council is asked to provide the following information with regard to the Education and Lifelong Learning Contribution sought towards primary education infrastructure at Kingsland Primary School ( 410,962 indexed): 1. Confirm if the financial contributions of 410,962 (indexed) paid from the development (reference 18/01026/FUL) have been spent. If partially spent, please state the amount spent.
2. If the financial contribution has been spent (in full or in part), confirm what specific education infrastructure has been provided at Kingsland Primary School, towards which the financial contribution has been expended. - Response
- 1. The 410,962 has been spent in full. 2. The above financial contribution was expended towards the construction costs of Kingsland Primary school, in order to reduce the amount borrowed by Scottish Borders Council to fund the construction.
