1: The percentage of individuals with an ACSP in receipt of: universal/preventative support; targeted support; individualised support 2: The current percentage of individuals with an ACSP, who receive any form of respite provision (note, this does not include respite funded through a care needs assessment for an individual)
3: Please provide the percentage breakdown of the type of provision provided (e.g. Respite Nursing Home Care, Respite Residential Home Care, Day Service) along with a definition of how the council defines those provisions. This percentage breakdown should also include the percentage of people receiving a direct payment to organise their own services, commonly known as In-Lieu Day Service
Response
Scottish Borders Council confirm there are 265 open Adult Carers Support Plans (ACSPs), with 81 (30.4%) receiving Replacement Care budgets through the Carers Act.
30.4% receiving replacement care budgets (81 of the 265 stated in Q1).
SBC offer a range of respite in the form of building based stays in residential or nursing homes, plus flexibly funded respite to cover short stays of support at home or away, or a small number of support hours per week to be used flexibly. SBC day services to include a range of day and social support opportunities from one-to-one community-based support, through to support to attend lunch clubs and buildings-based day services.
The figures show that, of the 3595 people, 1.64% have received respite, 1.14% have had "Respite/Residential Base [RRB]" and 0.7% have had "Flexible Respite" - indicating that some have had both. We do not know of a way to break these figures down as requested on the FOI because of how details are recorded.
